Ashanti broke through in the early 2000s with a run that's hard to match, she had the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, which basically no one does. Her debut album went four times platinum and gave us 'Foolish' and 'Always on Time' with Ja Rule, a collab that basically defined that era of R&B. She was the sound of Murder Inc. Records at its peak, holding her own alongside Fat Joe, Ja Rule, and Irv Gotti when that label was untouchable. She's had a quieter stretch since then but came back strong, finally releasing 'Braveheart' and connecting with fans who never really let her go.
